527: Michel Taddei on balancing many roles - a podcast by Jason Heath

Michel Taddei likes to keep busy with a wide variety of musical roles.  Michel is Principal Bassist of the Berkeley, Fremont, Symphony Napa Valley, and Pacific Chamber Symphonies, as well as the Mendocino Music Festival and San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, and serves as Assistant Principal Bassist of the California Symphony.

That alone sounds like a lot of activity, but Michael also is the Administrative Director of Music at The Crowden School, is an active conductor, and is a singer with a great deal of operatic experience.  He also teaches chamber music at the summer chamber music workshop of the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra and teaches bass at the Golden Gate Philharmonic.

Talk about keeping a lot of plates spinning!  We dig into how he balances these numerous projects, what he likes the variety, how to know if you’re in danger of schedule overload, and much more!
