Chad played basketball at Oral Roberts University, where he was named “Conference Play of the Year” in 1999, his senior year. He was also was presented the Presidents Cup for best all-around student athlete at ORU. After graduating from ORU with a B.A. in Theology, he turned to professional basketball, playing mostly in Europe for six years: London, Budapest, Lisbon, and Istanbul…as well as New York, Las Vegas, Austin and Dallas, where he played for and traveled with the Dallas Mavericks summer team. As a college and professional basketball player, Coach Wilkerson was coached by, among others, Bill Self and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.Coach Wilkerson was the founder and inspiration of Kingdom Athletes, an organization which began in 2008 with a passion to coach and mentor young men—not only in the basketball arena, but in character building and life skills.
Just last year, Coach Wilkerson co-founded BookandaBall…a charity which provides basketballs and Bibles to orphans. They just completed an outreach in Quito, Ecuador and are planning another outreach this summer to Syrian refugee children living in Scandinavia.
