Maryam is easily one of the most woke/articulate people I know. If she's not at a rally fighting the patriarchy she's posting ridiculously good looking pictures on social. She's one of those people that just kicks ass at everything. I'm not bitter about it (maybe a little...)

Maryam came by the kitchen to talk about growing up Muslim-American and how she has been able to find a balance between the two cultures. We go DEEP on this one. She helps me understand how privilege plays into white artistry and what I can do as an aspiring musician to make a difference. We also talk about upcoming UK acts you don't want to miss, Leonardo DiCaprio not aging well, and the importance of seeing yourself reflected in media. I know this one runs a little long but give it a listen but I promise it's worth it.

P.S. If I sound desperate for her validation throughout the interview it's because I am. I just wanted her to like me and I'm not sure if I accomplished that or not.
