Love this quote from our conversation,  " We have to learn the rules to then break them".

We the change makers are often the rule breakers. To stand out and really get people's attention it is breaking that "societal" norm of expectation and saying nope... doing it the way I see through my lens.

Kate Wyatt has an incredible way that she navigates the world through color, sound, texture... oh my gosh..

At 5 years old, Kate Wyatt knew she wanted to play violin, after seeing a clip of a cellist on TV. From a young age, she felt the intensity and power of string instruments. Little did she know, this would be her life path. Born to a family of artists, Kate was constantly surrounded by painters, jewelry makers and more.

From a very young age, Kate showed a high level of creativity and artistic ability, that made her stand out. Visual arts and performing arts have been not only her passion, but way of life. In 2015, she graduated from Rowan University with 2 bachelor degrees in Education and Music. She later finished here Masters Degree at Kent State University, where she studied Music Education.

As a professional violinist and educator, she has taught hundreds of students, of all ages, in Southern New Jersey. She has worked in many different musical environments as an educator, performer, sound tech, and more. Kate has performed in Carnegie Hall, multiple festivals overseas and has even appeared on national television, playing her violin. While an undergrad at Rowan University, she worked with several big name musicians, as lead sound tech, such as such as 21 Pilots, Aloe Blacc, Childish Gambino, and others.

Kate was recently featured in the Alumni Spotlight series at Kent State University, where she discusses the gift of Music Education and arts. She continues to remain active locally as a teacher and performer.
