When Donald Trump campaigned for the presidency, he often spoke about the need to 'drain the swamp.' He also spoke about the 'deep state', the need to put America and its interests first, national sovereignty and distancing America from the U.N. --After being elected, he went to work on these things, pulling away from such efforts as the Paris Climate Accords, the World Health Organization and the push toward globalism. As he did this, there was constant push-back with virtually every agency and department taking action to slow or stop his efforts.
