Winter Solstice - Christmas Celebration and Celebrating Light with Rev. Cassandra Rae - a podcast by CSL Whiterock

My heart is charged with excitement for our Winter Solstice – Christmas Celebration on Sunday evening! For her talk, Celebrating Light, Rev. Cassandra Rae describes this event:  

‘Arriving at the winter solstice, we come together to release that which is complete and to celebrate the rebirth of light emerging from the darkness. In this new spaciousness, we explore: What does the Light want to be in you this coming year? Join us for a candle lighting Winter Solstice Ritual with fantastic live music!’  

I love that I continue to discover my limiting beliefs and the blatant errors they contain; case in point - light is good, …darkness not-so-much.  And yet, of the highlighted celebrations throughout my childhood, from January to December each year, the most highly anticipated, thrilling, joyful, AND memorable events required darkness: New Year’s Eve, Canada Day fireworks, drive-in movies, sunsets, stargazing, campfires, Halloween, and Christmas. My spiritual practice, in recent years, rejoices at celebrating the Summer and Winter Solstice. I find my life enriched as I learn to embrace both light and dark and to release that which no longer serves me.  

In addition to Rev. Cassandra’s brightness and inspiration, we are so thrilled to welcome two brilliant musicians – playing for the first time at CSL White Rock, Lauri Jones and Eric Montgomery!  

Lauri Jones has an amazingly diverse professional background in theatre; cruise ships; jazz, pop, and dance bands; and as back-up singer on a variety of major label recordings. For several years, Lauri’s music has reflected her deepening spirituality. Lauri has enjoyed sharing her music in spiritual centers and a variety of other venues, conferences, and retreats in the greater Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Eric Montgomery is a multi-instrumentalist (drums/keys/vocals), songwriter, recording artist, and producer with the sole purpose of raising awareness toward a planet that works for all. His extensive background in acclaimed original and cover bands in the Pacific NW and Denver areas has been described as “powerful”, “inspired”, and “remarkable” by industry leaders. Eric approaches music from a heart-centered, Shamanic Healing intention.   What a blessing it is to have these consummate musicians honour this Winter Solstice – Christmas evening event!
