Millicent Fawcett was a suffragist who fought for women’s right to vote. The first law allowing them to do so passed in 1918. The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan unveils a statue commemorating Millicent Fawcett's courage in Parliament Square.

This is the first time a woman is honoured in the square, while 11 other men in bronze already stand there. We met with London’s Deputy Mayor for Culture Justine Simons to ask if the commemoration was too little, too late. Interview in English.
