Vikings vs Broncos - GMG Preview Show - a podcast by SB Nation

  Vikings vs Broncos… Good morning Horners! Your Minnesota Vikings are at home for this contest against the visiting Denver Broncos. After a quick appeal to the football gods, will Mike Zimmer create a defensive scheme that will destroy the rookie Brandon Allen’s [who?] effort in his first road game as a starter? Will the Broncos defense led by nemesis Vic Fangio’s defensive schemes cause problems for the Vikings offense like they did when he was the Chicago Bears’ DC? We will all find out Sunday afternoon, but the Vikes do have a home field on their side and our fans [that means you] make a difference.

 The guys wondered about the decline in Vikings pass defense play by Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes, Mike Hughes’ excessive targeting and if it can be fixed? They like that the offense is stepping forward and that the purple are scoring more points on average than any other squad in the Zimmer era [actually since Brett Favre led the team in 2009]. Kirk Cousins is doing a great job executing the offense and minimizing his mistakes. We may look at the Dallas Cowboys game as the turning point in this season. Let’s just hope that the Broncos aren’t the Buffalo Bills from last year.

 Drew leads another trivia challenge, Vikings vs Broncos edition, and Ted gets some great answers. Daunte Culpepper to Randy Moss, then lateraled to Moe Williams is one of our favorite memories from the series. There is more Vikings heritage to learn in this series too, all the while tons of laughs along the way.
