Holmes wins Ihmir Smith-Marsette punt return TD bet, Bernstein pays up (Hour 1) - a podcast by Radio.com

Dan Bernstein and Laurence Holmes opened their show by settling a debt from a recent bet. A couple days prior, Holmes bet Bernstein that the Panthers would get a punt return touchdown from former Bears receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette in the teams' game Thursday night. In the first quarter, Smith-Marsette did indeed do just that, collecting a punt at the Carolina 21-yard line and taking it to the house for six. Later, Score teammate Mark Grote joined the show to break down the Bears' 16-13 win against the Panthers and to discuss whether quarterback Justin Fields can dissuade Chicago from selecting a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft by performing well when he returns from a dislocated right thumb. Grote also discussed new pass rusher Montez Sweat's impact on the Bears.
