You can’t talk about Athens without talking about food. Athens has many fantastic restaurants, eateries, and amazing chefs.  Athens is a fun place for foodies, but it also a food desert for many of its residents. Rashe Malcolm, chef and owner of Rashe's Cuisine, works at the intersection of food and community development. Her food truck is almost ready to hit the road and she also runs 4 non-profits serving the  community, 2 of which are: Farm To Neighborhood, a mobile farmer's market and the Culinary Kitchen of Athens, a community kitchen project to help other entrepreneurs  expand their businesses. She also helped launch the Winter Market at Jittery Joe's Roastery on Barber Street and the Sunday Brunch Fair.  

Rashe Malcolm was born in New England and lived all around the world growing up as a child of a military family. She moved to Georgia as a teen, graduated from Greene County High School, then earned a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Environmental Management from Methodist University and a master’s degree in Administration Justice and Security from the University of Phoenix. Rashe’s Cuisine is a catering and home meal delivery service of delicious Jamaican inspired meals and a serial entrepreneur. She moved to Athens in 1993 lives on the west side of Athens with her children.
