Includes a Self Compassion Body Scan.

We are here today with a very special guest, our senior Mindfulness DEN Meditation teacher, Heather Prete.  She knows her stuff! She is a UCLA Certified Mindfulness Facilitator, Self Compassion teacher, and Mindful Recovery Coach. She started her formal training in Tibetan compassion practices in 1998 and has since studied all over the world. We cover it all in this episode: Buddhism, Mindfulness, Neuro Science, the Dharma and the power of silence.  She even takes a “woo woo” experience Tal had at a silent retreat and breaks it down scientifically. This episode dives deep into the parallels of science and meditation, so for those of you who struggle with the “woo woo” of it all and react more to the science, this is a great conversation for you. If connecting to the spiritual world and beyond is of interest, you'll love how she explains what scientifically is going on in your body during any of those experiences. We even chat about the importance of silence, and how it should feel like a relief and not a punishment. Every sentence of this conversation is an incredible education. She is a beautiful teacher and has the most gentle approach in guiding you to look inward and go deeper. Her personal practice is evidence of this, so be sure to stay until the end as she leads us through a Self Compassion body scan.
