Includes a loving-kindness meditation.

This week we’re incredibly humbled and honored to welcome the widely-adored Sharon Salzberg to DENtalks. Sharon is a world-renowned Buddhist meditation teacher, New York Times bestselling author, and one of the key influential people credited with bringing meditation to the West. Best known for her expertise in insight and loving-kindness techniques, Sharon founded the Insight Meditation Society in Massachusetts in 1974 with friends and colleagues Jack Kornfield and Joseph Goldstein, and shares stories of from the early days when their movement was just getting started from Boulder and the Santa Cruz mountains, all the way to the East Coast. We also talk about what it means to accept change, compassionately make space for pain, develop self-respect, and even break down the various approaches to our ultimate goals, such as finding happiness. Don’t miss the end of the episode, where Sharon guides us in a special loving-kindness meditation to find a sense of greater connection and expand our sense of love and compassion from ourselves and ultimately to all beings beyond.
