Afrofuturistic soul with a West Coast feel and African ingredients - Sudan Archives sings and plays her fiddle over cosmic sounds. Sudan Archives' real name is Brittney Denise Parks and she's from Ohio. She starts singing in the gospel choir and her stepfather wants to make an R'n'B star out of her. But Brittney prefers to do her own thing. In Los Angeles, she hangs out at the Low End Theory Club, the epicenter of innovative hip-hop, and also finds her way to the renowned Stones Throw label. In her soundtrack, Sudan Archives tells how her stage name is connected to the anime character Sailor Moon, who inspired her to play the rhythmic violin, and about role models like Stravinsky and Miri Ben-Ari.
