Once upon a time there lived a woman named Georgia Tann. She operated the Tennessee Children's Home Society, an adoption agency in Memphis, Tennessee. Tann drove through the city and often snatched children from their families. She then submitted the paperwork to corrupt judges who rammed through these atrocities as adoptions, and sometimes handed off children to the highest bidder. This true crime was the basis of author Liz Tolsma's new book, THE PINK BONNET. Join me and learn more about it--as well as Liz's real-life adoptions which weren't anything like the kind in Memphis in 1932.
