During the early 1980s growing up in Scarborough (Toronto, Canada) a favorite pastime was going to the roller rinks and throwing down what you had on wheels (if you could). For me it was skating at Roller Palace and Roller World.

Do you remember the funky skate, the moonlight skate, or "shoot-the-duck"? This was also a pinnacle time for what is now known as 'old school funk' as well as the surging growth of rap music. It was an exciting time to be young, hanging out with great friends and most of all moving around to some fantastic memorable music.
