Мы вспоминаем их так, как они были пропеты, а не так, как их переписала в книжки для детей трепетная цензура.

We have a roof under our feet, the sky above our heads. We represent the lines drawn by the ancients between the stars. Like children waiting for moms to cut their hair and chat with other moms, connect the dots with a pencil, the Greeks left us a cheat sheet of their history almost forever. Sitting by a campfire, surrounded by warriors, with a cup of wine diluted with water, you can peep into the teleprompter that stretches from horizon to horizon, slowly recalling songs about betrayal, lies, unbridled fun and bloody internecine strife, Gods, demigods and heroes.

We remember them the way they were sung, and not the way they were copied into books for children by reverent censorship.
