Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Kirtland, Ohio, 27 November 1832 (see History of the Church, 1:298–99). This section is an extract from a letter of the Prophet to W. W. Phelps, who was living in Independence, Missouri. It was given to answer questions about those Saints who had moved to Zion but who had not received their inheritances according to the established order in the Church.
