Today we dip into the final 5 contenders for Amazon's Socialbot Grand Challenge. This year's competition started back in August 2019, and Amazon recently named the 5 university teams that will compete in the finals in July. The team with the best socialbot will win a $500,000 prize, and an additional $1 million research grant will be awarded to the winning team’s university if their socialbot meets certain very high (and, so far, out-of-reach) standards.
Say “Alexa, start a conversation” to "test" one of the socialbots. You'll be directed to one of the 5 socialbot finalists for a fun chat, and you'll even have the opportunity to provide feedback for the competition.
