On
tonight’s show, Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy learn all about how to sneak healthy foods like vegetables into your husband and kids meals from
NY Times bestselling author, Missy Chase Lapine.

She wrote the book
The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kid’s
Favorite Meals. And now she has just published the sequel The Sneaky
Chef: How To Cheat On Your Husband in the Kitchen.

Missy
is the former publisher of Eating Well magazine and the founder of a
natural baby product line Baby Spa®. She is currently on the Culinary
Arts faculty of The New School, in New York City,
and operates The Sneaky Chef workshops, which is a program of cooking
classes and demonstrations that teach families how to eat healthier.
She is also a collaborator with The Alliance for a Healthier
Generation, a partnership between the American Heart Association and
the William J. Clinton Foundation, helping schools serve healthier
lunches.

For parents of finicky eaters, The
Sneaky Chef: How to Hide Healthy Foods in Kid’s Favorite Meals, was the
answer to their prayers, giving them solutions for hiding healthy food
in the meals kids crave. But women know that there’s often another
picky eater in the family - Men who dismiss healthy choices as
unsatisfying rabbit food. So The Sneaky Chef has now catered to the
guys, creating delicious recipes that will appeal to the manly appetite
while sneaking in ingredients that specifically target men’s health
issues.

On the show Missy explained her secret to sneak green veggies like
spinach, broccoli and peas into meals. First, you puree the green
vegetables then you mix in tomato paste which turns everything brown.
Remember your colors red and green make brown. Now that you have this
brown veggie sauce you can easily mix it into any meat sauce unnoticed.

Some Sneaky Recipes for men include: pizza, wings,
ribs and nachos. Some Sneaky Recipes for kids include: mac and cheese,
ice cream, and noodles. For more information please check out her website www.thesneakychef.com She says you can send her favorite recipes and she’ll make them healthier for you.
