Although some parents are still alive, it doesn't mean that they are emotionally or physically available. We grieve what we didn't have because somewhere deep inside there is a yearning to have the mother and father that gives us a sense of security and emotional fulfillment. According to Erik Erikson's psychoanalytic theory, if we don't grow up with security, we don't develop trust in the world and become vulnerable to others who may let us down. From a WTF! or What The Freud! perspective we then are more prone to repeat patterns that replicate this lack of security in current relationships.   Today we Mind Mapped the Tune: "Over You" by Miranda Lambert.
