On Episode 3 of the EIU Throws Podcast I got the chance to hangout with the man himself, Brenton Emanuel. Coach Emanuel is currently the Director of Track&Field at Eastern Illinois University.

Topics included building a positive culture within your program, raising the bar of expectations, adjusting to being a head coach, how to develop your team and group, recruiting philosophy, some great stories about our staff and more!Coach E has mentored 6 All-Americans, 8 NCAA Qualifiers, and over 70 conference champions. In his first two years as a head coach, Emanuel has won 2 OVC Championships. He has been honored with the OVC Coach of the Year award in 2019 and 2020. In 2018, he was named the Midwest Regional Assistant Coach of the Year by the USTFCCCA.

This was another really fun interview for me. Coach E hired me on staff at EIU and has been an awesome mentor. On top of being one of the best sprints coaches around, he has done a fantastic job setting the culture for our team, mentoring a young staff, and winning instantly. The interview will provide some great insight to the dynamic of our staff and team as a whole. Enjoy!Guest: Brenton Emanuel www.instagram.com/wishucldbme/ + www.instagram.com/eiutf/
