Welcome back to another episode of the Enjoy The Walk Podcast. Today we were blessed to sit down with long time (since 1984) Executive Director of the AJGA (American Jr. Golf Association) Stephen Hamblin. Stephen addresses the current state of junior golf within the game as well as taking us back in time. He talks about how he first became the Executive director back in '84 as well as how he along with the board of directors turned a small non-profit that was close to shutting its doors for good into the household name within jr. golf not only in the country but around the world. We also talk about some of the all-time greatest junior players to grace the tournaments run by the AJGA and what it takes to separate yourself as a junior golfer from the rest of the pack. Stephen also walks us through how the AJGA addresses their slow play and why they have been able to stay at the forefront of slow play policies since their inception. Spoiler alert, their average tournament round time is under 4 hours and 30 minutes!
