For Episode 81 I am joined on the podcast by Travis Hance. Travis is probably most known for a few of the bands he played in while living in Syracuse in the early 2000s. These bands include Hermon Dekalb, Darker Day Tomorrow, and The Funeral. We spend a bulk of the conversation talking about these bands and Syracuse Hardcore in general. Before that though, Travis talks of growing up in the really small town of Brasher Falls, NY (really northern New York, near Potsdam University) and building a scene and playing in bands around there. I didn't realize before the interview that Travis had grown up with Andre Foisy (Break of Dawn) and played in a band with him growing up. We talk about that, as well as them jamming together currently for a new project. Travis is living in Albany now so that comes up during the conversation a few times, as well as him taking on a career in tattoo removal. We talk about many other subjects during our conversation, including addiction, violence at shows, spirituality and its connection to hardcore.
