Episode 90: Hellfest Volume 1 (1997 Syracuse 3 Day Super Fest with Ryan Canavan and Dan Zimmerman) - a podcast by Enterprise Hardcore Podcast

I grew up in downtown Rochester, about 85 miles west of Syracuse, NY. In 1997 I started traveling to shows in Buffalo and Syracuse a few times per month, sometimes more. That Summer, Ryan Canavan and Keith Allen booked the first Syracuse Hardcore fest. Two years later the fest would be renamed Hellfest. A lot of bands that were influential to this podcast either played or attended one or more of these festivals. I've been toying with the idea of making some podcast episodes documenting this festival so hopefully this is the first of many. For this edition, I'm joined by Ryan Canavan and Dan Zimmerman. Ryan was one of the people that organized this festival and Dan played on the final day in Harvest. Harvest was on a full US tour with Endeavor that Summer so Dan talks about that as well. We discuss our highlights from the festival, including a pretty infamous incident on the last day.
