Sen. Leahy, who is set to preside over former President Donald Trump's second impeachment trial, has been hospitalized. Leahy was hospitalized the same day that he was sworn in to preside over the Trump impeachment trial. 

According to CNN, house managers and democrats are prepping video evidence of the January 6 riot, which is undeterred by McConnell signaling that the Trump impeachment trial is unconstitutional. Only five GOP senators are joining democrats on the constitutionality of Trump's trial. Oregon GOP falsely calls the United States Capitol attack a "false flag" operation that was "designed to discredit" Trump. GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene indicated support for executing prominent democrats in 2018 and 2019. 

Biden announces his plan to purchase 200 million more vaccine doses for Americans. This would increase America's previously planned supply by 50 percent. This would be enough to fully vaccinate 300 million Americans by the end of this summer or early fall. Biden says that he will be increasing covid-19 vaccines by 16 percent start next week, while some governors say it's "not enough." According to CDC officials, evidence shows that schools can safely reopen with the right safety precautions concerning covid-19.
