“Let them lay hold of my protection, let them make peace with me, let them make peace with me.”

“O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.”—“According to your faith be it done to you.”—But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.

So they drew near to the village to which they were going. He acted as if he were going farther, but they urged him strongly, saying, “Stay with us…”… And he vanished from their sight. They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?”—“Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you in order to find favor in your sight.” “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”—Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I, theLord, the first, and with the last; I am he.

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.—He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.—Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?—TheLordwill fulfill his purpose for me.

For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
