It is God who works in you.

Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God.—“A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven.”—“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.”—“I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever.”

Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

O Lord, you will ordain peace for us; you have done for us all our works.

“The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you; your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul. My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.

For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out…. For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members.—For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.—Our sufficiency is from God.—“My grace is sufficient for you.”

Isaiah 26:8–9(Listen)

    O LORD, we wait for you;
  your name and remembrance
    are the desire of our soul.

    my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
  For when your judgments are in the earth,
    the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
