Morning:Psalm 25:12; Psalm 32:8–11; Psalm 119:105; Isaiah 30:21; Jeremiah 10:23; Matthew 6:22

Who is the man who fears theLord? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.

“The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light.”

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.—And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.—I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you. Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in theLord. Be glad in theLord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

I know, OLord, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, OLord, make me dwell in safety.—He gives to his beloved sleep.

And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.—Away from the body and at home with the Lord.
