Morning:Psalm 26:2; Psalm 51:6; Psalm 119:59–60; Lamentations 3:40; 1 Corinthians 11:28; Hebrews 10:19–22; 1 John 1:9; 1 John 2:1–2

Let us test and examine our ways, and return to theLord!

Prove me, OLord, and try me; test my heart and my mind.—Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.—When I think on my ways, I turn my feet to your testimonies; I hasten and do not delay to keep your commandments.—Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.—We have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins.—Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

“This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud…. I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”—An everlasting covenant, ordered in all things and secure.—So that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.
