Morning:

Psalm 30:2–3; Psalm 40:1–2; Isaiah 38:17; Jonah 2:7; Micah 7:18–19; 1 John 4:9–10

But in love you have delivered my life from the pit of destruction.

God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love. He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities under foot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.—O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me. O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.—“When my life was fainting away, I remembered the Lord, and my prayer came to you, into your holy temple.”—I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock.

Psalm 30:2–3 (Listen)

God’s Steadfast Love and Compassion

Psalm 119:105; Romans 13:12; 1 Corinthians 13:12; 1 Timothy 4:1; Hebrews 2:8; 2 Peter 1:19; 1 John 2:18; Jude 17–18; Revelation 1:19

“Write therefore the things… that are.”

For now we see in a mirror dimly.—At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him.

And we have something more sure, the prophetic word, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.—Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.”—Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons.

Children, it is the last hour.—The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.
