Morning:Psalm 69:20; Psalm 116:3; Psalm 142:4; Isaiah 53:3; Matthew 26:38–39; Luke 22:44; Hebrews 2:10

Perfect through suffering.

“My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.” And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”—And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish.—Reproaches have broken my heart, so that I am in despair. I looked for pity, but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none.—Look to the right and see: there is none who takes notice of me; no refuge remains to me; no one cares for my soul.

He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Evening:Exodus 20:11; Psalm 8:3–4; Psalm 19:1; Psalm 33:6; Psalm 33:9; Isaiah 40:15; Hebrews 11:3

TheLordmade heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them.

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.—By the word of theLordthe heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.—Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are accounted as the dust on the scales; behold, he takes up the coastlands like fine dust.

By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?

Exodus 20:11(Listen)

11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
