Morning:Genesis 15:6; Psalm 115:3; Luke 1:37; Luke 1:45; Romans 1:17; Romans 4:13; Romans 4:20–24; Hebrews 10:23

And [Abraham] believed theLord, and he counted it to him as righteousness.

No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord.

For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.—“The righteous shall live by faith.”— Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.—Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.—“For nothing will be impossible with God.”… “And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”
