Morning:

Ecclesiastes 9:10; Luke 2:49; John 2:17; John 9:4; Romans 12:11; 1 Corinthians 9:24; Ephesians 6:8; Colossians 3:23–24; Hebrews 6:11–12; 2 Peter 1:10

Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.—Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.—Whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord.

“We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.”—“Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?”—“Zeal for your house will consume me.”

Brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.—We desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.—So run that you may obtain it.

“Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”

Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.—“Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you.”

Lot lifted up his eyes and saw that the Jordan Valley was well watered everywhere like the garden of the Lord…. So Lot chose for himself all the Jordan Valley…. Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the Lord.—If he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked… then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials.—And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
