BMW IX M60 PRICING GUIDE SHOWS MOST GOODIES COME AS STANDARD

- BMW iX M60 made its debut at the beginning of the year with a starting price of $105,100. It’s not all that bad since you do get a lot of bang for your buck.

- An official pricing guide sent by a dealership to a potential customer and member of the Bimmer Post forums shows a short list of options.

- For $1,900, the iX M60 can be fitted with the Driving Assistance Professional Package with Active Driving Assistant Pro and Parking Assistant Professional. Spending an extra $1,150 on the Luxury Package will add soft-close automatic doors and those fancy glass and wood controls.

- the M version doesn’t cost a lot more than a fully loaded xDrive50 and you benefit from more power. You do lose 25 miles of range, at 280 miles, compared to EPA’s figure for the xDrive50 with 21-inch wheels.

- the cheaper iX xDrive40 sold in Europe and other parts of the world won’t be coming to the US after all.

PORSCHE INVESTS HALF A BILLION EUROS IN BOXSTER/CAYMAN FACTORY FOR EVS - ROADSHOW

- According to a report Friday by the German branch of Automotive News, Porsche is already pouring money into the facility that builds them to transition over to electric vehicle production ahead of the planned switch to full battery electric power for both models.

- The brand had already invested pretty in EV construction when it built the factory for the Taycan, but this goes a step further and represents real progress in the brand's stated goal of having around a third of its sales come from EVs by 2025 and two-thirds by the end of 2030.

- Production of the electric 718 replacements – which are based on the fantastic Mission R concept –  is slated to begin in 2023, which means that we might be looking forward to a debut of possibly both the Boxster and the Cayman sometime this year. We also expect the next-generation Macan – also electric – to debut in 2023

LOTUS EYES IPO AS IT SEEKS TO EXTEND CHINESE PARENT GEELY’S EV EMPIRE

- Lotus, the British sports car brand majority owned by China’s Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, is in early discussions about a stock market listing with the idea of raising fresh capital for global expansion and electric vehicle (EV) development.

- It has ambitions of selling 100,000 vehicles globally in 2028, which would represent an about 60-fold increase over last year, when it delivered 1,710 cars

- Lotus Technology plans to launch four smart EVs in the next five years. This year, it will launch an electric SUV code-named Type 132. Next year, it plans to debut the Type 133, an electric four-door coupe.

- Geely, one of China’s largest carmakers, has been actively chasing a leading position in the EV sector over the past few years. In November last year, Geely Automobile Group, Geely’s Hong Kong-listed unit, said it had set aside 150 billion yuan (US$23.7 billion) for research and development over the next few years
