 Marco is originally from Tirol, Austria where he grew up skiing competitively since the age of 6. Marco began skiing professionally at the age of 16 and has participated in four Junior World Championships, the World Championships in 2005 in Bormio, Italy, and upon deciding to represent his mother’s home country of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Marco joined the Bosnian Junior National Ski Team at the age of 16. Marco competed in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy as a member of the Bosnian Alpine Ski Team, racing both Giant Slalom and Slalom events. Marco qualified for the Slalom finals at the Olympic Games.




After successfully competing in the 2006 Winter Olympic Games, Marco decided to pursue his skiing career in the US while working towards his Bachelor’s degree in Colorado. During the 2007 season, Marco suffered a career-ending crash and after several knee surgeries, retired from ski racing in 2009. Upon retiring, he dedicated his time to his education and exploring full-time career interests. Marco began his career at Goldman Sachs upon graduation, where he worked for 5 ½ years. Marco received his MS in Entrepreneurship from DePaul University and graduated in December 2017. He is currently the VP of Business Development for the Corporation for Interest Rate Management in Chicago and is training with his wife for their first Ironman 70.3 in AZ later this year.
