Our minds can take us into the future and create all kinds of stories about what could possibly happen.

Its's our hope that listening to this podcast  can  help you find another option and an opportunity to go within and find a place of calm that could be used to help others in these troubling times. Its an invitation to try something different.

Frank reveals he spent a couple of years working on the Navajo Indian reservation with the Indian health service and shares a message from the Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers.  https://sisterhearts.blog/2018/02/08/message-from-the-council-of-13-indigenous-grandmothers/?fbclid=IwAR1QUYY4D8hfG3e4S3w1xGZxsD8vWPJW5Sak8O4r-LTRBCL48x6IbTLoCVw

The conversation includes the suggestion to take a break from that feeling of dread even for just a few minutes and try something different, take a step back in awareness and see if  that may provide a way to move forward in a different lane.

A quote from Byron Katie’s new book A Mind at Home With Itself is shared that speaks from a place of awareness.

"The mind can never be controlled - it can only be questioned, loved         and met with understanding."

A space opens up when we become aware that our minds are creating all these scenarios- and there opens up a freedom when you can question them and just say "that's my mind doing what it does, and I love my mind because it is trying to protect me."  The realization comes when Awareness is the identity.  When you take that step back into awareness all these other things take on a different meaning.  That leads to the question: Are you yourself all these thoughts and emotions and fears or is it the awareness of those things-who you really are?

It's not one of those things you can think up - it's not something you can control, but once you get a glimpse...identify with that piece then all of a sudden thoughts and fears are transformed!  Transformed into something to be aware of -transformed into presence =just like we do with  the breath.

However, it does take a decision to try it.

There's a heartfulness  and a compassionate aspect when we give ourselves an opportunity to move into this deeper place.  You can start by being mindful of the breath.  One doorway to presence and awareness is to just stop and know that you're breathing,

If you know your mind is racing -who are you that knows the mind is racing? And then rest there as awareness;  The more your mind is going crazy and you know it ...the more you're aware of it.  Tap into the awareness of that and see what happens!

That's the awakening.

Respond from a place of wisdom - we all have that potential.
