Stephen: Courageous Faith - a podcast by Band of Brothers

Dr. Dennis Borg presented, "Stephen: Courageous Faith," during which he talked about Stephen's background as a Hellenistic Jew and how he was challenged to care for the Greek widows who were being neglected in favor of the Jewish widows. Stephen was completely faithful to the Gospel, and when challenged by the religious leaders went through the Old Testament stories of God's omnipresence and power. When the Holy Spirit allowed Stephen's testimony to pierce their hearts, the Jews turned on him and stoned him to death. Stephen became the first Christian martyr yet, like Christ, asked forgiveness for those putting him to death. Dennis challenged the men to be called to the same courage in sharing the Gospel, relying, as did Stephen, on truth and the Holy Spirit.
