The long time journalist and former grand chief of Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak has just announced her intentions to run for the grand chief of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs.

North, who also ran for the national chief of the Assembly of First Nations is also set to release a memoir in the fall of 2021.
