a.Why does this guy still have a job? If the answer is a strong union, then something has to change.
3.Why did the Rockies resign Charlie Blackmon? Sure, he slashed .284/.368/.446, but with eight home runs, he’s a singles hitter who really should be a DH. Kind of like Andrew Benintendi, and he has a job. But still, given where they are in the process, shouldn’t they let their kids play and build for the future? I don’t get it.
4.Two notable pitching performances yesterday – Do either interest you for next season? They should be cheap.
a.Frankie Montes – 1.1 IP, 2 hits, 0 ER, 1K/1BB
b.Chris Paddack – 3 IP, 2 hits, 0 ER, 4K/0BB. Total of five innings, striking out 8 and walking one. FB was 95.5 MPH, up 2.5 MPH from 2022. Better spin. Change-up still looks great.
5.On the other hand, Carlos Rodon had a start to forget.
a.0.0 IP, 6 hits, 8 ER, 2 BB. Brutal season. 6.85 ERA in 14 starts. Can he be this bad?
6.Felix Bautista is having TJS. A real bummer as he will likely not pitch in 2024.
