Matthew 1:1-25 

MAIN IDEA: God supremely rules and reigns over all. God is working in all of history to bring about his eternal purposes for his glory and the good of his people.

I. God’s sovereignty is scary.
II. God’s sovereignty is mysterious

III. God’s sovereignty exalts God as absolutely supreme to be worshiped, treasured, and adored.
IV. God’s sovereignty and rightly reminds us of our humble dependence and need as the creature.
V. God’s sovereignty produces thankfulness and gratitude in all circumstances.
VI. God’s sovereignty produces hope and comfort in difficulties and trials.
VII. God’s sovereignty ensures that good will ultimately triumph over evil.
VIII. God’s sovereignty is the source of all Christian confidence and security

IX. God’s sovereignty is the reason we can trust his Word.
X. God’s sovereignty should bring peace, calm and a trusting disposition to his children.
