Cracks In David's Armour, July 21,2019 - a podcast by Faith Baptist Church

We seem to marvel at David and how wonderful he was. David was known as a giant slayer, a gracious man, and a merciful ruler. He also plays a key role in the narrative leading up to Jesus’ birth. Jesus is consistently called ‘son of David’ in the New Testament.

David was a man that chased after God’s own heart. But no matter how great the man was, in the account of David and Bathsheba, we discover he was still just a man. In our text this week we start to see the cracks in David’s armour, and how much he was willing to throw away for a moment of pleasure.

This just proves how much we all need a Saviour. And Jesus is the only perfect One who can save us. As great as David was, he was still a sinner in need of grace. We all need the forgiveness that comes through the sacrifice of the perfect King who would take upon Himself the punishment of our sins.
