While a lot of people throw around the term, "Let Russ Cook." How many people can actually define it well? Listening to Wednesday's episode of the Palpably Unfair Podcast (or PUPcast), part of the SB Nation NFL Show, the discussion around Wilson focused on the number of times he dropped back to pass. Wilson's 39 dropbacks against the Falcons was on par with his career average over the last four seasons. It's not really a good metric of measurement for what Seahawks fans have been talking about.
To help narrow down exactly what to look for, John Fraley has a new weekly column at Field Gulls that grades the Seahawks in four specific areas. Pass/run ratio in neutral situations, handing the ball off when it's 2nd an 9+, allowing Russell Wilson to make plays on the ground, and decision making on 4th and short.
