The start of the NFL's new league year starts on Wednesday, and Monday was the first day that teams are allowed to interact with free agents. The biggest news for the Seahawks was the announcement that defensive tackle Jarran Reed would return to Seattle on a two-year contract. John Fraley, Field Gulls contributor and co-host of the Tasteful Profanity podcast, joins the show to recap Monday's free agency news.
Several restricted free agents were also offered tenders from the Seahawks, including tight end Jacob Hollister. The biggest departure of the day was the announcement that offensive lineman and tight end George Fant is expected to sign with the New York Jets for $30 million over three years. But, perhaps the biggest story of the day, was the Arizona Cardinals ability to get DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans and send running back David Johnson along with an exchange of draft picks.
