The Seattle Seahawks remain in second place in the division despite the Arizona Cardinals looking as though they might be able to pull off a victory in Santa Clara on Sunday. The Cardinals were up 16-0 early on in the game, bounced back from 17 unanswered points by the 49ers, and even held a lead late into the fourth quarter after scoring 10 points in the second half. San Francisco came away with the victory and so did the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football. The Bears kept it close, but the Rams were able to stay within a couple games of the Seahawks and picked up a 17-10 win. The Seahawks next opponent, the Philadelphia Eagles, dropped a game at home to the New England Patriots.
After a look at Sunday's action, it's a look back at Pete Carroll's bye week press conference. Carroll talked about why he thinks the pass rush was successful against San Francisco, and what he thought about Shaquem Griffin getting some snaps late in the game to go after the quarterback. Coach provided his thoughts on Quandre Diggs who played the entire game at free safety after coming over from the Detroit Lions. How will that impact rookie Marquise Blair going forward? One of Pete Carroll's main rules for the team is that he is "all about the ball," and when several plays demonstrated the team's lack of ball security, he says it's something he's going to focus on even more in the coming weeks.
