The Seattle Seahawks return home after a third straight road win to face Earl Thomas and the Baltimore Ravens. Jake Louque of the Baltimore Beatdown Podcast joins me to preview Sunday's matchup. It's a matchup that turns what most people have previously considered the strengths of these two teams completely on its head.
The Seahawks enter Week 7 as Football Outsiders top ranked passing offense and third in the NFL for offensive DVOA. The Ravens offense is right behind the Seahawks in DVOA and rank first in the NFL in total yards averaging 450 yards per game and second in average points with 30.7. The former strengths of these two teams have turned into relatively average defenses. Each team barely has double digit sacks (Seattle with 10, Baltimore has 11) and both are in the bottom half of the league in points allowed per game (Seahawks are 20th with 24.3 and Ravens are 17th with 23.3).
The key is going to be stopping Lamar Jackson, who became the first player to ever win both air and ground player of the week honors in a single season, and Louque says that the key is rattling Jackson early and taking away his deeper options throwing down field.
