The Seahawks jumped out to a 24-0 halftime lead thanks to an interception by linebacker Mychal Kendricks and three red zone trips that resulted in touchdowns. Russell Wilson was perfect on his targets to Tyler Lockett as that connection counted for more than half of Wilson's yards through the air. However, the Seahawks defense allowed the Falcons and backup quarterback Matt Schaub to put up 20 points in the second half and 460 yards through the air. Kenneth Arthur joins the podcast this week to talk about the Seahawks 27-20 victory as they go to 6-2 on the season.
Since 2012, the Seahawks are now 54-0 when leading by four or more at the half. Seahawks fans may have expected a larger margin of victory after a big first half, but their lead never faced a serious challenge. With just over three minutes left to go in the game, the Falcons went for a two-point conversion that would have made it a one possession game for Atlanta. Bobby Wagner, who became the franchise leader in tackles for the Seahawks, was there to break up the pass and help seal the victory.
