Despite taking a 12-point lead into the final four minutes of the game, the Seattle Seahawks found themselves in a defensive standoff at the goal line in the final seconds of the game. After rushing for two touchdowns in Week 1, Cam Newton added two more on the ground against the Seahawks. With one yard to go, the Seahawks defense was able to make a stop when it mattered most. Field Gulls managing editor Mookie Alexander and former managing editor John Morgan join the podcast to talk about Seattle's first game at CenturyLink Field this season. Russell Wilson threw for five touchdowns in the game. It was something he hadn't done since 2015. Yet, overall, it was a more balanced offensive approach compared to last week's game against Atlanta.
If there is one area on defense to be concerned with over another, is there a bigger issue with the secondary or the defensive line? Seattle has now given up more than 800 yards through the air, and next week they'll face Dak Prescott coming off a 450-yard passing performance. There was one bright spot for the defensive line in this game. We discuss that, and a lot more, in this week's post-game recap.
