Dan Bertolini is the Head Coach at Youngstown State University, a Division I program in Youngstown, Ohio. He is a 2008 graduate of Mercyhurst University where he was a four-year starting shortstop.  After graduating he played professional baseball for a few years before deciding to turn in his cleats and begin a coaching career.  Dan’s first coaching position was at Mercyhurst North East, a JUCO in Pennsylvania where he spent 8 years as the Head Coach.  Then, in 2017 he took over the Head Coaching position at Youngstown State University where he still remains.

We start off this podcast with Coach Bertolini answering the question, “what makes up a successful college baseball program?”, as well as what he believes will help make the Youngstown State University baseball program what he wants it to be.

Coach Bertolini and I also dive into a conversation about recruiting and what kind of players he looks for to join his Program.  We also talk about the importance of playing showcase baseball, devaluation of winning, recruiting off of the field, nutrition, and much more! Lock into this podcast to learn and hear from Division I Youngstown State Universities Head Coach, Dan Bertolini.
