Rob Nelson is the inventor of the world’s most nostalgic gum, Big League Chew.  He went to Nassau Community College and then NCAA Division I Cornell University, where he was a left-handed pitcher.  After graduating from college, he played professionally in Cape Town, South-Africa, and then found himself in Portland Oregon.  There in Portland he became a part of the Portland Mavericks Independent Baseball Team, which is also where Big League Chew was born.

In this podcast, we start off with Rob telling the story of how and where he got the idea for shredded gum.  We than discuss how Big League Chew went from an idea to an actual on-the-shelf item, including Rob explaining how he cooked the first batch himself in a borrowed kitchen.

We than continue our conversation with what life was like for Rob before Big League Chew became a household name and how he stays humble now that his gum has entered “Hall of Fame” status.  Do yourself a favor and lock into this special podcast to hear from Rob Nelson, the inventor of every baseball players favorite gum, Big League Chew.
