The new season is upon us! With Week 1 of the NFL season just hours away, host Pat Fitzmaurice (@Fitz_FF) of TheFootballGirl.com is joined by Matthew Freedman (MattFtheOracle), the editor-in-chief of Fantasy Labs. Since Matt’s company is part of the Action Network, he and Pat start by talking about some action – which plays against the spread they like most for Week 1, and also strategy for survivor pools. Some of you still have last-minute fantasy drafts this week, so Matt takes a quick run through some of the players he likes a bit more than his Fantasy Labs colleagues do.
Just a few weeks ago, Matt was in Las Vegas for the Gambling Olympics, an epic exercise in debauchery that Matt recaps for us, going over some of the highlights and explaining how he sold it to his bosses and his wife. Matt also talks about his circuitous path to a career in the fantasy sports and gambling media, and then Pat and Matt wrap up the show with a discussion about some borderline Week 1 starters and whether you should feel good about having them in your lineups.
